Blue Ox Music Festival 2022 is approaching with a great lineup

For the June 11 edition of XL II 90 Live Music Radio Hour, Nufone Rick delivered the first of a two-part series featuring a preview of artists who were set to grace the stage at this year’s Blue Ox Music Festival. Drawing inspiration from past Blue Ox performances and other archival material, NuFone presented live recorded music from Sam Bush Band, Boogie Armchair, railroad land,Pert near sandstone, The Del McCoury Group, Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck and her friends, Them Coulee Boys and Old Crow Medicine Show.

From June 23-25, Blue Ox will once again descend on beautiful The Pines Music Park in Eau Claire for Wisconsin for their 2022 edition of world-class bluegrass and American music for the music-loving masses of the Upper Midwest.

The 2022 edition of Blue Ox will feature the Wisconsin debut of Bela Fleck’s My Bluegrass Heart. Representing the latest development in Bela Fleck’s ongoing dialogue with bluegrass, My Bluegrass Heart involved the top instrumentalists playing bluegrass today. At the festival, Fleck will be joined by Michael Cleveland, Sierra Hull, Justin Moses, Mark Schatz and Bryan Sutton. Attendees can expect many special appearances from other artists performing at Blue Ox Music Festival 2022.

Additional headliners include a who’s-who of American and bluegrass music. Performers include returning hosts Pert Near Sandstone, as well as Old Crow Medicine Show, Railroad Earth, Sam Bush Band, Punch Brothers, Del McCoury Band, Paul Cauthen, Samantha Fish, Joseph, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades and Fruition.

Rounding out the lineup are Eau Claire locals Them Coulee Boys, Madison-based Armchair Boogie, guitarist Daniel Donato, Milwaukee’s Chicken Wire Empire and more.

Blue Ox has become known for its intimate, family-friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for artists and fans. A full range of cultural activities, including yoga and meditation, a children’s stage with programming for toddlers, and a diverse lineup of food and craft vendors round out the festival experience.
