lululemon’s MIRROR app offers a wide variety of classes

We have completed a 14 day trial

MIRROR is lululemon’s home fitness product. It’s literally a mirror with a screen inside that displays a fitness instructor. The MIRROR works with a Companion app where users can access fitness classes like yoga, barre, and weight lifting. You need the app to use the mirror, but you don’t need the mirror to use the app.

Although I tried the mirror, I just completed a 14 day challenge just using the app. For the past 14 days, I’ve been doing one wellness class a day. I used my phone and sometimes a split screen with my TV. After completing the challenge, here are my overall thoughts (you can check out my full journey in my Instagram Saved Story @randimann ):

1. The classes are fantastic

Through the app, you can access live and archived classes. To search for archived courses, there is a very useful filter. Each day I selected an advanced 30-45 minute session, but classes range from five minutes to an hour. Difficulty levels are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. I was more than challenged by the advances. I’ve taken barre, strength, cardio, yoga, Pilates, and toning classes, and me and my sweaty towel have enjoyed all of them.

2. Excellent in-home solution, does not replace an in-person visit

Before living my best COVID-19 lockdown life, I was in a yoga studio every day for six years. In my studio, I have participated in yoga, barre and Pilates classes, so I am familiar with the movements used in these exercises. Even though I took over 2,000 classes, I still needed to be realigned each time. As my old favorite Pilates instructor used to say, “If you look in the mirror, you’re out of alignment.” Alignment is important to prevent injury and promote exercise efficiency.

If I had the MIRROR on and the built-in camera was on, the instructor could see me if I was in a live class. But with a few hundred people in each class, the instructor can’t really make personalized line-up suggestions for everyone.

3. Do I need the MIRROR or just the app?

I completed a 14 day challenge with just the app and the successful mission. I’ve connected with some people on Instagram who have and love the MIRROR, stating it’s the best purchase they’ve ever made. With the MIRROR, you get features that aren’t available if you only have the app, like “competition mode” and two-way video.

The gear

I started the lululemon’s sports challenge Like a cloud bra and InStill HR tights and love them both. The bra looks like a cloud like a sports bra can. It is a medium support bra that is easier to put on and take off than other styles. The InStill tights are great for yoga, barre and Pilates, there are no leg pockets so not ideal for me and running. I completed the challenge wearing luluemon’s Cool Racerback tank top from over a decade ago, which is still going strong. And then I wore Roots sweatpants, because I put pure comfort first for my last class. (Well, last lesson in the challenge, I’m going to keep taking the lessons.)

It’s no secret that we love lululemon. Besides being a huge Canadian success story, the brand makes such efficient technical equipment. For the first time since its inception in 1998, lululemon acquired another company, MIRROR .

Brynn Putnam, a former dancer with New York City Ballet, introduced MIRROR in 2018. In early 2020, lululemon acquired the virtual wall-mounted in-home streaming mirror.

MIRROR was founded in the United States and came to Canada in mid-2021. We had a chance to try it out and it’s amazing. It’s like there’s a little personal trainer in your mirror.

As with other live streaming devices, MIRROR, which is currently on sale for $1,245 instead of $1,895, operates on a monthly subscription model ($49/month) to access training on top of that. to buy the mirror itself. The membership includes many styles and levels of fitness classes, including yoga, high-intensity interval training, barre, boxing, dance cardio, meditation, and strength training.

The MIRROR is great because it takes up little space, the classes are taught by talented instructors, and the cost of the item makes you want to use it so you don’t feel guilty (besides feeling fantastically fit, obviously) .

For the first time, non-subscribers can try lululemon’s MIRROR add-on app from December 30, 2021 to January 17, 2022. You do not need the mirror to participate. We will be participating in the 14-day fitness challenge starting Thursday, December 30. Join me on Instagram @randimann and hold each other accountable.

To launch the challenge, I will wear lululemon’s Align tank , Like a cloud bra and InStill HR tights . I haven’t tried these pieces yet, so I’ll be sure to share my thoughts.

How to register :

Register before January 17 and get two weeks free. Get 14 workouts in 14 days from your phone, tablet or smart TV.
